Summary
Ranks in R2DA are not only a badge of honour for those who invested time but are also required to unlock better weapons. On this page, you can find information regarding their names and icons.
To rank up, you need Experience Points. EXP earned is the same as the cash reward. For example, a Normal Zombie will give 10 EXP and killing a survivor will earn 120 EXP. Saviour rewards also apply; saving a pinned survivor from a Leaper will net you 45 EXP.
The Round Reward also uses the same concept. If a cash reward is listed, then you will get that in EXP if you win. Bosses will always give 1,000 EXP. If a cash reward isn't listed, then an EXP reward is given based on survival time, which is linear.
Below is a graph representing the game's experience curve prior to v1.0.2. In v1.0.2, more Ranks were added. To compensate for this, the curve was made more linear. This is represented below by the chart:

Trivia
- You require 3,333,175 EXP to go from Rank 0 to 60.
- The formula for ranks past eight is: Failed to parse (syntax error): {\displaystyle RankEXP = (2,100 × rank) - 8,800 } where Failed to parse (syntax error): {\displaystyle rank ≥ 8} .
- Every time you rank up in-game, your HP is automatically refilled.
- You also get a temporary forcefield when you rank up.
- 15 new Ranks, 25 through 40, were added in v0.8.1.
- In v0.8.2, Rank 40 was removed, and the maximum was 39.
- In v0.8.3, the Emblems for the remaining 14 were changed into what you see today.
- In v1.0.2, Ranks 40 to 60, as well as a visual change for Ranks 25 to 39, were added.
- In v0.9.3, PlaceRebuilder lowered the experience needed for 15 through 19 for a gentler experience curve.
- In v1.0.2, the curve was made even gentler to accommodate for all the new ranks.
- Pre-Demo, Emblems may have looked different visually, but the system was still exactly the same as it is today.
- Rank limit increased from 11 to 24 in v0.2.7.
- Prior to v.1.0.2, OsvaldoL was the first player to ever achieve Rank 39.
- There was a rank-up animation during DEMO, but this was removed as it immobilised you.
- Also in DEMO, whenever you ranked up, you received a diploma with your new rank.
- When you were about to rank up you could use a grenade to explode yourself along with a few zombies, that were worth the amount of exp for you to level up. You would be ragdolled but alive.
