Summary
A secondary pistol now lost to the sands of time, the M1911 was a weapon that almost made it to the arsenal of Reason 2 Die before its cancellation. In comparison to its all-around counterpart, the Steyr M, the M1911 outclassed it in ballistics but had lower ammo capacity, limiting its use to being an emergency weapon.
Background Story
“I just came here for the Garand. Are you sure of this?”
“Yes of course. I only wish for more supplies to keep me living just a tad longer. I have lost the strength to fight, and so I wish to hand these off. You’ll find a better use for these than me.
"But if I may, hear an old man’s tale on these pistols if you will.”
“Uhh sure, I got time. Lay it on me.”
“All right.”
“First let me paint the picture. The setting is May of 1917. Two beautifully produced M1911 pistols rolled off the production line bound for the frontlines in France. Somewhere in the city of Saint-Mihel, my great-great grandfather picked up two 1911s from two fallen comrades of his during the battle there. He later on used both to win the war and returned home with them."
"Those two 1911s became family heirlooms. Very much like my family, they too have traveled all over the world. My great-grandfather, following the first world war, used them to hunt mobsters during the prohibition era. My grandfather then used them during the Second World War. If I recall they have been to the Solomon Islands, and then he was transferred to Juno beach to fight the Germans. He kept serving after WWII to fight in Korea. He then returned home where they were passed to my father. He used them in Vietnam. He likes to brag that he killed at least 20 Victor-Charlies before losing his leg at Da-Nang. Then...the next in line was me. I had no desire to fight in a war, much less shoot the pistols so I did a complete mechanical overhaul on them. There they lay, dormant but polished on a display shelf.”
"Then this blasted apocalypse rang out. Well, I had the guns so I figured I might as well use them. They’re really good for being practically 100 years old. But, much like my grandparents time eventually will run out. I have no desire to keep fighting zombies."
"Take good care of my gems. I know you’ll give them a good home. Keep my story alive, in exchange for keeping me alive just a little longer.”

Trivia
- This was slated to be released with the Skorpion overhaul in v1.5.5 before the game was cancelled.
- A full look at the planned contents of the weapon can be seen in this video.
- The M1911 was a suggestion originally created by Tsukuyomi_141.
- The suggestion was eventually remastered into a Sinister Arms Inc. project, with GoSinister, PeridotIsWithYou, LITTLEROBBY11, Rascalian_Devil, and TheSopwithCamel joining in.
- The model seen in the suggestion is outdated; the one that was supposed to make it into the game was remade from the ground up, much like the MP5.
- Originally meant to be dual wielded, for unknown reasons jopede wanted it to be a single weapon.
- Premium skins for the M1911 feature small upgrades to the weapon, akin to the Kimber's 1911 variants.
- Rail mount for accessories
- Different iron sights
- Skeletonized hammer
- The Dark Iron skin was supposed to be the default skin for the M1911 before the texture was changed to as it appeared in the suggestion, due to complaints stating it looked too dull.
- Unitentionally the M1911 could be viewed as a Pistol return due to both being the same gun.
