Summary

The Lantern is a tool dropped by Bull King for Halloween 2020. It can be used for lighting dark areas and sending fireballs to enemies.

Background Story

Many workers of the olden times fell victim to unfortunate accidents. That old ghost train story your grandparents told ya? It's not a legend, its all true. Some lost souls were “fortunate” enough to roam the areas where they perished, becoming ghostly legends like the ones you hear at Halloween.  The majority of the others were sent to the deepest, darkest regions of the underworld. The Bull King decided to give these lost souls a second chance at life as guardians of his realm. He turned the souls into haunted lanterns, lighting the way for those who wish to enter his realm. If the souls desired, they had the ability to turn people into a crisp before they even met Bull King. Another tale says that these were handcrafted by the Bull King himself, blessed, or should we say cursed, with the Bull King's own energy, crafted for the direct purpose of roasting any survivors that come to his domain. Needless to say, some “souvenir hunters” liked the lanterns and took ‘em for themselves, leaving Bull King without any source of security.

Tips

  • When you fire, and it explodes, it will start a fire area.
  • This weapon can also melt frozen Tickets just like the Flamethrower.
  • This has a similar firing method to the Toy Bow.
    • However, unlike the Toy Bow, it shoots straight from where you point your cursor at.
    • Make sure you jump as the charging animation finishes so you do not accidentally hit yourself.
      • Bringing a Flakvest or a Firevest will greatly help with preventing any recoil damage.
        • The Firevest should help more, since the explosion does not deal much damage, it's the fire from the explosion that deals most of the damage.
  • This can be fully reloaded at Ammo Stations, making this a more renewable Molotov.
  • If surrounded at a base, take advantage of its radius and damage to get rid of hordes of zombies.
    • However, take note the size of your base. If it's very small, it might be much wiser not use the Lantern to prevent any damage against yourself, unless you have suitable armor to survive such damage.
  • Using the Lantern in chokepoints can discourage some zombies (example a Leaper's health pool) from crossing as they maybe too weak to stand a chance.
  • Aiming it below or near your feet and jumping can launch you into the air, you can use this to your advantage to get to higher ground. However, you will take damage from the explosion and after burn, and tripped meaning you might miss your shot.
  • Directly hitting enemies isn't recommended as the projectile is slow, leading the enemy likely to dodge your attack. Aim the floor near the enemy to possibly stun them via explosion.
  • Try farming tickets for this weapon. Since the Halloween Chest can be taken/go behind walls.
    • Quests and Bosses are good maps to farm tickets since bosses drop 100-200 tickets and quests give you a lot if you collect chests, but it only has a chance to give you tickets
      • Wearing the Magnet armor is recommended. Doing so will attract tickets to you and collect them without having other people steal them
