"War, War never changes..."
―Civilian From alternate 90's

Summary

Team Deathmatch is a gamemode originally available for the Battlestation Universe. This changed in v0.9.9 and it was a Universe on its own.

The whole premise is very similar to Free For All. Before v1.0.7, there are two teams, Red and Blue, and both have 75 lives. For every death a team suffers, they lose one life. Once lives run out, that team stops re-spawning and the remaining players must survive the onslaught or die trying. Once a team has zero lives, and everyone on that team is dead, the round ends.

Since v1.0.7, it is now capture the flag, with flags dotted around the map for either team to capture. First to 250 (or 100 in small servers) points wins. After v1.3.3, points are now based on kills again, not flags.

Background Story

Where there is rules, there will be rule breakers. some of the survivors got tired of being told what to do, and they formed a coalition called themselves "The Federation", the ones that wanted law and order, were named "The Alliance", brother turned on brother, dog turned on owner, it is speculated that there are many small forces spread throughout the globe, each side wanting to spread and recruit members for their cause, though sometimes they team up to fight their one common enemy...

Tips

Weapons

  • You can easily swap weapons by clicking the primary and secondary slots at the top of your screen.
  • Tri-Blaster, Ice Gun and the RPG are also banned here.
    • Just like the latter, you can bring the X-Mas Launcher.
    • However, you can buy the RPG for 10 points in the points store. You cannot reload it.
  • Melee'ing your enemies in any way will instantly stun them.
    • This makes for an easy kill.
  • The M16A1 can be deadly as a single burst can kill people before they even have time to react.
  • The Skorpion is useful while in close quarters as the high rate of fire kills the player in seconds.
  • The Boo Buster is very good in stunning players, so long you can get close enough to them.
  • The Minigun is surprisingly accurate at medium ranges.
    • The high firerate makes it a good replacement for the Skorpion.
    • Be aware of the revvup and low walkspeed. Don't be too reckless with it.
  • As the maps are quite large, shotguns aren't recommended, but snipers are as they can easily pick off unsuspecting people.
    • However, the Barrett 50 Cal. has been nerfed specifically for this gamemode to 160 instead of the normal 240, and the CK Swat to 90 compared to the normal 130.
    • This excludes The Complex and Sewers, as shotguns are more useful in these rather enclosed maps.

Armor

  • You cannot bring Armor of any kind.
  • The Lifevest purchasable for 1 point is rather redundant unless stacked up.
    • You get 15 HP for every vest you buy.

Items

  • Unlike Free For All, all personal items (an Airstrike, a Pipebomb, etc.) are banned. Don't bring them in with you.
  • Watch out for Grenades and Steil Grenades everywhere you go. One may appear out of nowhere and severely weaken you.
  • Supply Boxes do load into the maps here, take full advantage of this for the quick Grenade or Molotov
  • Using the Give Command will not work in this gamemode.
  • You can only buy the Molotov, Vitamins, Extra Ammo or Tag Objective from the In-Game Store.
    • Tag Objective is useless, do not waste money on it.
  • After v1.3.3, one kill nets you one point which you can use to buy:
    • 1 point: Blueberry Splush or Lifevest.
    • 2 points: Steil Grenade or Molotov.
    • 3 points: Medkit or Grenade.
    • 4 points: Vitamins or Jetpack.
    • 5 points: Airstrike.
    • 10 points: RPG.
      • Points save after death.
      • You can get more than 10 points. However, do not save points for too long as points do reset every round.
      • Buy the items whenever the situation demands it. If you are killed with an item, the other team can use it against you.
      • You can buy more than one item at any given point. You can also have a Medkit and Jetpack equipped at the same time.
      • Unlike other items, multiple Jetpacks do not stack.
      • The Lifevest is only useful in large quantities. You only have that maximum health until you die.

Strategy

  • Stick with your team at all times, you may unexpectedly run into a group from the other team!
  • Say "p [message]" to team talk.
  • Use the High Speed Train to get around Shoot'em Up Town, just be careful of enemies waiting at the next stop.
  • Consider flanking if there are too many people advancing down one route.
  • While you are able to buy "Tag Objective" through the In-Game Store, it will not reveal anyone's location.
  • The more people at a flag, the faster it goes up.
  • When you capture a flag, which has to be at 100%, you can spawn there once you die.
    • Walk over the flag base to make your spawnpoint there.
      • If the enemy de-captures the flag from 100%, your spawnpoint will return to the default point.
    • You can earn up to 24$ per flag each time you raise your flag.
    • You can earn up to 50$ per flag each time de-capture then raise your flag.
  • Spectating, pressing the menu button and then pressing the play button may put you in a different team.
    • Although this is heavily frowned upon, this can be useful in some aspects.
  • Don't remove the last flag of the other team or they will spawn around the map using zombie spawnpoints.
    • This will make it a lot easier for them to uncap your spawnpoints.
  • As of v1.2.8b, mounts are allowed in Team Deathmatch.
    • The Rocket Sleigh is ideal for quick transport.
    • The Pumpkin Bot does not damage anyone. Don't bring this mount, unless there are places where its jump would be needed, The Complex for example.
    • The M2 Tripod does damage people here, though other players may also use it for their own intentions.
      • You can spawn more than once per round whenever you die. Use this to your advantage to help your team.

Trivia

  • The Party feature has been disabled for this universe but you can still party talk to teammates.
  • Initially in Debug, this gamemode was featured in the Default Universe rather than the Debug Battlestation.
  • Prior to v1.3.3, from getting a killstreak (2+ kills), you can obtain by chance:
  • In Debug v1.3.3, this was the original points store, seen in this video:
  • Killing someone only gives you 10$ instead of the usual 50$.
    • The flag capture rewards were added in v1.2.6.
      • Flag capture rewards were nerfed after v1.2.8 as they could easily be used to farm cash.
  • Like Free For All, you start with 250/260 HP with every life.
    • The small 10 HP bonus is given to you if you're in the Community.
    • This was updated from 100/100 HP in v1.2.6.
  • There's no time limit, similar to a Survival Unlimited round.
  • The Team Emblems are the same as the emblems in Pillow Fight Simulator and Tiny Globe.
    • While Pillow Fight Simulator is a ROBLOX game, Tiny Globe was a mobile game that was being developed by PlaceRebuilder himself.
    • The Alliance flag can also be seen on top of the flagpoles you see in Capture the Base.
  • Text colour is different depending on what team you're on.
    • This is the text colour for red.
    • This is the text colour for blue.
  • Before v0.9.9, Team Deathmatch would play for two rounds instead of the one round that you see today.
  • Team Deathmatch servers are stored under the Battlestation Universe header.
  • The team emblems can be found as Patriots Flag skins, Alliance & Federation.
  • Originally, the Store-Points RPG was reloadable.
    • It was obviously changed for being too overpowed.
  • During v1.5.1, PlaceRebuilder created a Team Deathmatch server where players had 2000 HP and only could use Tanks.
    • A footage can be found here.
