The Boo Buster is notorious for being able to lock on a target and render them useless. Super annoying, super frustrating and really hard to counter. Why?
”shut up, use a faraday and get good”
Seems like an obvious choice, but think about this: If you want to survive for long in FFA, you can’t rely on Bulldozer armors because you will still take only one headshot to die (for Barret users). In order to stand up against other players, a Scout for extra stamina or a Flakvest for explosive protection are extremely good choices. Heavily relying on the Faraday armor will allow the others to use an explosive and turn you into an easy target, and without the extra stamina, you can’t run around and dodge Barret users like you normally would with a Scout. Sacrificing those important aspects just for protection against a single event exclusive weapon is not worth it in my opinion. Not to mention how pricey the Faraday is.
Alternatively, you can also use explosives or distance yourself away from the boo users to snipe them with the a Barret. Simple, right?
No.
Imagine what would happen if a boo user camps inside a cramped space and wearing a Flakvest. No matter how much explosive items you dish out, it will barely make any difference. Plus, close quarter combats are fairly common in Battlestation servers, so it would be no doubt that you have to get up close to the boo users and take them out.
So with that being said, in what aspect should the bio be nerfed? I think the answer to that is to reduce the DPS (or RoF), and not removing the stun-lock ability, because that will make the boo pretty much useless. The stun ability is what makes the boo unique, but the DPS is really too overpowered for a gun that requires no skill to use.
Increasing the DPS may make the Boo Buster require some strategic use and not spamming mindlessly and killing people in under 5 second with this.
Alternatively, you can also make the victim able to fight back after the stun period is over, but I don’t know if anyone would agree to use this over a frag grenade that can easily dispatch them.
