From many matches that I have lost in Battlestation servers, I can see that solo players will have a very hard time to even win a match due to the fact that teamers usually dominate the lone wolves.
Personally, I think name tags and health bars (including mini health bars) should not be seen with the exception of party members’ health bars for communications and such.
If you tell a noob to “get good,” imagine this: How hard would it be for a solo player to complete demolish a 5-player team on their own? How lucky would you have to be to even take down half of the party?
Although playing as a lone wolf is fairly difficult for many big groups, the biggest advantage they have is stealth. A party, in order to win, requires good communications to achieve success. That means if they want to have good communications, they will often stay together to outnumber anyone else standing in their way. A solo player, however, does not need such communications, and can easily hide in places where others cannot see them.
Taking away health bars and name tags visibility in FFA, PDM and FFA provides a big advantage for lone wolves, allowing them for a greater chance of surviving a round without the fear of being seen through the wall, therefore making stealth a viable option for solo players.
